As part of professional development days, teachers from across subjects meet to share best practices in their field. Cheryl shared how she supported the ESOL department in their work providing strategies to target ELL students needs in mainstream classrooms.

Discovery Education Transcript on video

“Since I have been using Discovery Education videos, I have marveled at the features it offers. That day, I shared with my colleagues different strategies including using the captions and scripts available in the videos. This is a great opportunity for English Language Learners to make the visual and audio connections they need to make in order to learn a new language. “

Cheryl also provided follow up by emailing the SOS strategies and was excited to see the responses from colleagues who had made use of the strategies in their classrooms.
